Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the BUAV's new campaign.

Many people are unaware that animal testing for household products and their ingredients is still allowed all over the world. This involves painful experiments to develop products such as bleach, washing-up liquid, laundry detergent, furniture polish and air freshener.

Shamefully, here in the UK it is still perfectly legal to use animals in household product tests. In 1997 we won a UK ban on cosmetics testing using animals - but since then at least 7,235 animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs and even quails, have been used in household product tests.

Now is the time to extend our victory to household products. The BUAV is calling for a total ban on animal testing for household products and their ingredients throughout the whole of the United Kingdom.

Read on to find out how the BUAV is making a difference and how you can get involved.

Best wishes,

Michelle Thew
